Assignment 2: Photos

Self-Portrait:

On the left is the scanned negative, and on the right is the positive with some touch-ups.

Shot with a pinhole camera made from a gift box, with an aperture the size of a pushpin shaft in a piece of aluminum can.

  • exposure time was seconds
  • photo paper was 2.5cm away from pinhole

Where My Eyes Cannot Go:

On the left is the scanned negative of a warehouse on across the coulees from the University of Lethbridge, and on the right is the positive with quite a few touch-ups.

Shot with a pinhole camera made from a 7.5cm x 90cm cardboard shipping tube, with an aperture the size of a pushpin shaft in the plastic cap of the shipping tube.

I tried to use the telephoto quality of the shipping tube to satisfy the "where my eyes cannot go" prompt, displaying an equal level of focus on the building, coulees, and trees in the background.

  • exposure time was 5 minutes
  • photo paper was 90cm away from pinhole

Duration:

On the left is the scanned negative of the aperture sculpture at the University of Lethbridge, and on the right is the positive with some touch-ups.

Shot with a pinhole camera made from a 7.5cm x 90cm cardboard shipping tube, with an aperture the size of a pushpin shaft in the plastic cap of the shipping tube.

I tried to use the clouds in the background to represent duration.

  • exposure time was 10 minutes
  • photo paper was 90cm away from pinhole

Other:

On the left is the scanned negative of a couple of trees beside the University of Lethbridge, and on the right is the positive with just a few touch-ups.
